Sewing 101: Sewing Machine Basics for Adults (Saturday, Oct 5, 12-4 pm)

Learn the basics of machine sewing in this 4-hour workshop. Students will learn sewing machine safety, how to set up their sewing machine, complete basic stitches, and make a custom gathered bag. (Students are asked to bring their own sewing machine, so they can become familiar with how their machine works.)

About the Instructor 
Kathleen Barth has been sewing since she was a pre-teen and her mother got tired of her increasingly elaborate costume requests. She focuses on garment sewing, especially in the plus size category. She worked as a sewing tutor for the past 5 years before moving from Los Angeles to Western Massachusetts.
